This training course was designed and is supported by the Haut Comité Français de la Défense Civile et Economique des Pays de la Loire that issues a diploma at the end of the course.
Safety
Security is demanded whatever the nature of the activity and the complexity of the social, economic or industrial systems. Trained in cindynics (science of danger) and aware that safety also depends on the people and the organisations they make up, as a SEP engineer you will carry out your function with a multidisciplinary way of thinking based on the traditional scientific field and human sciences. . You take part in defining the in-house safety policy for people and facilities and pass on information. You set up the different safety management systems (OHSAS 18001, ICO OSH, MASE). He or she takes part in the Hygiene, Security and Working Conditions Committee (CHSCT). You take part in the Comité d'Hygiène, Securité et Conditions de Travail (CHSCT - Health, Safety and Working Conditions Committee) and maintain relationships with public authorities (Factory inspectorate, CRAM, DRIRE), private partners (insurance companies, CCI). You are also an interface with experts. You are a risk evaluation and management advisor.
Environment
As far as the environment is concerned, regulations are becoming tougher. As SEP engineer you ensure these regulations are complied with by evaluating the impact company activities have on the environment. You offer solutions, make the staff aware of the fight against pollution. You take part in performing ICPE (Classified Installation for the Protection of the Environment) declaration and authorisation files, carry out statutory monitoring, conduct in-house audits for compliance with international environmental standards (ISO14001). You optimise resources by reducing and enhancing waste and controlling energy and raw material consumption.
Prevention
Risk analysis isn't an end in itself. Its main purpose is to create risk prevention initiatives. Trained in risk analysis methods (APR, AMDEC, HAZOP),as SEP engineer you are the main player in preventing natural, technological or provoked risks. You integrate the company's different components (human, economic, legal, technical…) notably through a quality approach. You heighten the personnel's awareness on the subject and provide training on risks incurred. Through your initiatives, you increase the control of all company players to be able to anticipate any problems and improve profitability.
