International Student Association
The International Relations Department is assisted by the ISA (International Students Association) to welcome overseas students and give them all the information they need so their stay on the Angers campus goes well: accommodation, transport, discovering France and the region and dealing with any other questions they may have.
Interview with Coralie, President of ISA in Angers
What is ISA's mission?
There are 6 of us on the board but there are active members to help during activities.
We take care of welcoming overseas students, helping them with administrative formalities (opening a bank account, finding a phone, accommodation...). It's a bit like sponsoring them! Then we take them on outings, notably at the weekend to help them forget that they're far from home.
What do you prepare for the ERASMUS students who arrive at the start of the academic year?
We have several projects underway. The website is being finalised. When this is finished, we want to offer a welcome booklet containing all the practical information you need for everyday life.
The association will offer outings to discover the region as we do every year. We will go to Saumur, La Rochelle and of course visit the caves!! We're also planning a trip to Paris and a day at the Astérix theme park.
Finally we have a project that is very dear to us and that is to help ERASMUS students who want to stay in France for their work placement: to help write their CV and cover letter, choose companies, prepare them for interviews,...
What motivated you to join ISA?
To start with I wanted to join the BDE team (student union) but I said to myself that ISA would have the same festive activities but with young people from other countries. It seemed natural for someone like me who enrolled for an international course at esaip!
It's a wonderful experience: you improve your languages, you discuss your everyday lives and different cultures, you develop a network of contacts abroad and on top of that you have fun....in short, it's bliss!
