Year validation

Licence informatique générale (general computing bachelor's degree) - STIC (Sciences et Technologies de l'Information et de la Communication - Sciences and Technologies of Information and Communication) issued by the CNAM (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers - National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts) Pays de la Loire.

If any of you wish to validate your first year by the Licence you must register with the CNAM Pays de la loire. This registration is not compulsory (it's your choice). No additional lesson is required. You will have to validate a certain number of lessons during your sup'esaip first year curriculum and confirm professional experience. While waiting to acquire this experience, you will be given an academic achievement certificate with the same value as Bac + 3 (3 years higher education after A' levels) with regards the company.

Duration: 2 ½ months

Discovery of the host country and region with the cultural project


TOEIC Objective: 700 points

During the TOEIC exam, a minimum score is required to obtain the end of study accreditation of diploma: 700 points for "Project Manager" students.
The cost of the exam is included in first year school fees.
The TOEIC test lasts two hours. It is made up of 200 multiple choice questions of which 100 for listening comprehension with audio support and 100 for written comprehension.
TOEIC test questions are based on authentic examples taken from international professional situations (meetings, travel, telephone...). Each candidate obtains a distinct oral and written comprehension assessment with a score from 5 to 495 points. The total score is between10 and 990 points.


Yearly project

Aims :

  • To develop a development language dealt with in class (C, C++, XML language, Web development...)
  • To implement a project management methodology in an application of a greater scale.
  • To do a technical study, a written report and oral.


Organisation :

  • Projects are carried out in pairs
  • Each pair can chose their subject and be monitored by a tutor throughout the project (three follow-up meetings will be organised)
  • Project sessions are scheduled in the timetable. You must find other hours outside of the school's schedule.

Subjects
All subjects must abide by the following instructions: development in a language studied in the first year.
The aim of this project is to apply and develop basic project management notions and not to spend all your time on programming.
You are asked to submit three documents regarding your project's progress (specifications file, design file and test file).

Industrial data processing projects:

  • Surveillance system of public places (video card)
  • Encoding of the Modbus protocol (automatons - PC)
  • Supervising an automaton by a PC with use of the Modbus protocol.
  • Running a weighing centre.
  • Remote managing of a digital oscilloscope.
  • PC - PC link in RS232. Dialogue, file transfer...
  • Acquiring data by logical and analogical cards, digital data simulation, display...
  • Acquisition de signaux analogiques basses fréquences, traitements, affichage...
  • Managing a building's alarm system (security) (captors, acquisition, display, history...)
  • Interrogating a router via the SNMP protocol and generating statistics.


Management projects with databases:

  • Managing bank accounts (lists of customers, banking activity, euro conversion...)
  • Managing work input in a small/medium-sized company.
  • Robot maintenance study (availability, reliability, maintainability)
  • Stock management (products, suppliers, clients, orders...)
  • Currency processing (history, evolutions, trends, weighted average...)
  • Shop sales and supply management.
  • Equipment loan management.
  • Managing a timetable.
  • Managing a telephone directory.
  • Managing student union activities: sales, purchasing, history, manning, messages...

Calendar

  • Choice of subject during study stay overseas
  • Submit project subjects to the course leader mid-April

Company work placements in France or overseas

In July and August for at least 8 weeks
Implement your technical skills and develop your knowledge of the company by discovering the function of a project manager.
Validation: Writing a report + oral

  • Taking part in setting up a network supervision platform in LINUX (in France)
  • Designing and developing a web site for the international association of Lasalian Universities (in Mexico)
  • Writing an install client-server software and database (in Poland)
  • Setting up intranet and implementing security (work placement in France)
  • Creating a stock management aid (in France)
  • Establishing a network between a company's two sites (in Germany)
  • Taking part in developing a guidance control system on PDA (in France).
