Hélène, 2004 graduate, works in the pharmaceutical sector in Bordeaux

I joined ESAIP after my HSE DUT (two year diploma) in Bordeaux and one year abroad with the ERASMUS programme. For me, going abroad was a very good way of gaining confidence because you put things a lot more into perspective and you learn to get by in all kinds of unexpected situations.  Today I am in charge of research and development for a pharmaceutical company in Bordeaux. With a team of 20 people I'm in charge of monitoring and development initiatives:  risk prevention plan, evaluating chemical risks, evaluating risks before purchasing machines, evaluating suppliers, ergonomic studies, translating and applying procedures from the parent company situated in the United States (Johnson & Johnson). In my opinion, if you want to increase your chances of professional integration you're better off being open-minded; it's with the years and experience that you can go on to specialise in a particular field.
