Michael studied at an IUT (university institute of technology)

"I had thought about going to an engineering school since college.  My main teacher in my final year advised me to either attend a university institute of technology or classe préparatoire (two years of intensive study to sit entrance exams):  courses adapted to my personality, (I'm not someone made for the Faculty, there's too much working by yourself) but also that prepares you for all engineering schools. I chose the DUT (two year diploma) in GTR (Telecoms and Networks Engineering) that allows me to be versatile and to opt for a career in computing or electronics in the future.  I applied for different public engineering schools but also an ATS class for a refresher course that prepares you for join a public engineering school (because they take very few vocational training certificates or two year diplomas).
I was accepted in other schools but it was ESAIP I chose for its international aspect:  I went to Germany for a year between the fifth and sixth semester; I told myself that it could be good to continue in this direction and go abroad regularly.  This gives you lots of opportunities to find work because I could easily work in France or overseas. So I opted for a school that combines technology and linguistics, which coincides with the evolution of the European and world economy"..»
